Buying advice

  • Order clips with the panels. The clip has to fit the seam profile and height. Long panels need floating clips so they can move with heat.
  • Use the screw the clip calls for. Pancake-head screws sit flat under the panel so they don’t print through.
  • Metal roofs run hot. Most panel makers call for a high-temperature underlayment under metal.
  • Lay out snow guards from the manufacturer’s spacing guide, not by eye.
  • Buy touch-up paint in the same paint system and color as the coil.
  • Under flat aluminum pans, closed-cell backer rod helps reduce oil canning.
  • Seal panel end laps with butyl tape made for metal roofing. Caulk is a second line of defense, not the main seal.

Questions

Which clip do I need for my panels?

It depends on the panel profile, the seam height and the machine that formed it. Tell us the profile or the machine and we’ll match the clip.

Do you have color-matched rivets?

Color rivets are in the catalog. Tell us the coil color so we can check for a match.

How many snow guards does a roof need?

That depends on roof pitch, panel length, snow load and the guard itself. AceClamp publishes layout guidance. Ask us and we’ll help you get a layout from the manufacturer.

Can I add accessories to a coil quote?

Yes. Put everything on one quote, or build the list with the trim and accessory estimator.

These parts go with our standing seam panel profiles, exposed fastener panels and painted coil.
