About this product
A standing seam fixed clip is a one-piece concealed clip that holds a standing seam panel firmly to the roof deck. Roofing contractors use fixed clips on residential and light commercial roofs where panels are short enough that thermal movement is not a concern, and in the fixed zone of longer panels where the designer wants the metal pinned in one place.
Because a fixed clip has no sliding part, the panel cannot move at the clip. That is exactly what you want at the anchor point of a run, but on long panels in a climate with big temperature swings the metal needs somewhere to go; that is why many layouts use fixed clips in one zone and the Standing Seam Floating Clip everywhere else. The panel maker’s installation guide sets the clip type, spacing and screw count for each roof area, so follow it.
The clip must match the seam height and leg shape of the panel it holds, so tell us the profile, panel width and metal when you order. Fasten it with Pan Clip Head Screws into a wood deck or Pan Clip SD MT Drilling Low screws into steel; their low, flat heads stay out of the way under the panel.
Clip orders usually go out with Tyvek Protec underlayment, Butyl Tape and touch-up paint for the panel color.
It is available from our New Brunswick, NJ warehouse; call (732) 561-4275 to check stock, or add it to your quote.

Questions
Fixed or floating clip: which do I need?
Fixed clips pin the panel; floating clips let it slide. Clip maker SFS suggests considering floating clips once panels run past about 30 feet, but your panel maker's installation guide has the final say.
What screws hold the clip down?
Pan Clip Head Screws for wood decks or Pan Clip SD MT Drilling Low self-drilling screws for steel, both in the catalog.
