How to choose
Pick seamer jaw width by the job. A 3-inch seamer gets into corners and tabs. A 6-inch seamer makes long folds straighter with fewer bites. Offset handles keep your knuckles clear of the panel.
For snips, buy left- and right-cut aviation snips as a pair. Add a long-cut aluminum snip for straight cuts in trim coil, since it leaves a cleaner edge over a long run than aviation snips do. Pattern-cut snips follow curves and tight radii more easily.
Building a hand tool kit
A typical metal roofing crew carries a narrow and a wide hand seamer, a left- and right-cut pair of aviation snips, a long-cut snip and a riveter. Buying them from one maker keeps the grips and the feel the same across the crew.
Questions
Which hand seamer should I buy first?
A 3-inch seamer handles most trim and flashing tabs. Add a 6-inch seamer when you do long folds or standing seam work.
What is the ER3 edge roller for?
It rolls a safe hem or edge on sheet metal in three stages, which is handy on flashing and drip edge.
Do you have rivets for the CR18?
Color rivets and black rivets are in our fasteners section. Tell us the coil color so we can check for a match.
Can I buy a single snip, or only sets?
Each snip is listed on its own. Check the product page for stock, or call before you come in.
Malco tools pair with WUKO benders and seaming pliers for roof work and with a siding and trim brake for shop work.
