StanGroup and other roll formers
StanGroup machines and other panel equipment are in the catalog too. They include:
- the SS4E-15 double standing seam machine and the SS4E Junior portable roof panel machine
- a metal tile forming machine and a double side hemming flange roll former
- a standing seam panel curving machine, cleat forming tools and an AG panel perforator
Specs for each are on its product page.
Choosing a roll former
- Start with the profiles. List the panels your customers ask for, then check which machines run them.
- Check the coil width. Each profile needs a set coil width. For example, a 16-inch panel is often formed from coil about 20 inches wide, but the exact figure comes from the machine’s profile sheet.
- Check the gauge range. Confirm the machine’s rated gauges for aluminum and for steel.
- Portable or shop. A portable machine goes to the job and runs each panel to exact length on site. A shop machine stays put and feeds from heavier coil.
- Plan the feed. Add a decoiler sized to your coil weight and width.
- Plan the extras. Curving, hemming and perforating are separate machines or options.
Keep it fed
When you buy a machine here, you can buy the painted aluminum and steel coil it runs here too. Tell us the machine and profile on every coil order and we check the width against the profile sheet. The panels-per-coil calculator shows how many panels one coil will make.
Questions
Which NTM machine suits a residential crew?
The SSR MultiPro Jr. is NTM’s entry-level multi-profile roof panel machine. Crews that also want wall and soffit panels usually look at the SSQ II MultiPro.
Can one machine run aluminum and steel?
Most roll formers run both within their rated gauge range. Check the range for each metal on the product page or the manufacturer’s spec sheet.
Is training included with a machine?
That depends on the machine and the manufacturer. Ask what’s included before you order.
Can I see a roll former before I buy?
Call us to ask which machines are at the warehouse and to set a time to look, or send a machine demo request. Brand pages: NTM and StanGroup.
