ESE makes decoilers, power seamers and hand tools for standing seam roofers. Our New Jersey catalog lists seven ESE items: four decoilers, the K9 double lock power seamer, a finish hand seamer and a drip edge bender. This page shows them all.

ESE decoilers
All four ESE decoilers take coil with a 15″ to 21″ inside diameter and up to 38″ outside diameter. ESE gives these static load ratings:
- Mini: 3,000 lb and coil up to 24″ wide, with a single locking spider.
- Standard: 3,000 lb and coil up to 34″ wide, with a dual locking spider.
- Heavy Duty: 5,000 lb and coil up to 34″ wide.
- Extra Wide: 5,000 lb and coil up to 48″ wide.
Choose by your heaviest coil and your widest width. The decoilers page compares them with manual, motorized and hydraulic models from other makers.
K9 double lock power seamer
The ESE K9 roll forms a double lock seam in one pass on 1″ or 1-1/2″ standing seam. ESE lists it at 40 lb, with a 115 V single-phase motor, a speed of 30 feet per minute and 24 gauge as the maximum for steel. Optional rolls convert it to single lock.
ESE also lists panels and metals the K9 is not compatible with. Tell us the panel, the metal and the seam height before you order. Seam types are explained on the power seamers page.
ESE hand tools
- Finish Hand Seamer 180 Degree: an 099-series seamer that makes the second, 180-degree fold of a double lock seam by hand. ESE pairs it with its 001-series seamer, which makes the first 90-degree fold.
- Drip Edge Bender: folds the drip edge at the end of a standing seam panel by hand. ESE makes it in 12″, 16″, 18″ and 20″ widths.
Questions
Which ESE decoiler do I need?
Match the rating to your heaviest coil and the width to your widest coil. The Mini is the lightest ESE model, for coil up to 24″ wide. The Extra Wide is the only ESE model for 48″ coil.
Do I still need hand seamers with the K9?
Yes. Start each seam at the panel ends by hand, then let the K9 run the rest. The finish hand seamer and WUKO seaming pliers handle the ends.
Can I see an ESE seamer or decoiler before I buy?
Send a machine demo request with the model and a day that suits you. We reply to confirm whether it can be seen in person, and when.
ESE tools sit alongside Malco hand seamers and the rest of our metal roofing tools. For the machines that form the panels, see NTM roll formers and StanGroup machines.
