ML™ Standing Seam Metal Roof Clamps

The AceClamp ML is a standing seam roof clamp for rounded and bulb-style seams such as T-panel and zip-rib profiles, used by roofers and snow retention and solar installers to attach hardware to the seam without penetrating the roof. Instead of set screws pressing into the seam, it uses a patented two-piece sliding mechanism that draws the clamp closed with a single fastener on top.

The ML (part 5031) is aircraft-quality aluminum with stainless-steel hardware and comes pre-assembled. It measures about 1.01″ wide, 2.06″ tall and 1.49″ deep, with a 0.90″ jaw opening and a 3/8-16 tapped hole on top. AceClamp’s cut sheet gives torque values of 175 in-lbs on 24 gauge steel and 135 in-lbs on aluminum, and its torque chart covers T-panel, quad-lock and zip-rib seams; use a torque wrench, not an impact gun. The accessory list includes snow bars, collars, connectors, tube caps, ice flags and one-, two- and three-bar snow guard systems. AceClamp’s published third-party tests include zip-rib, single-lock, double-lock and snap-lock panels, with results such as 1,503 lbs perpendicular on a 22 gauge Merchant and Evans Zip-Rib.

Choose the ML for bulb and T-style seams. For single-lock, double-lock and snap-lock seams, the A2 is the usual pick, and the A2N and A2Nw cover nail-down panels. AceClamp clamps are not to be used as fall-protection anchors.
