Choosing a color
- See it in person. Screens and printers shift color. Ask to see a sample before you order a full coil.
- Know the tiers. Standard, premium and metallic colors can differ in price and lead time. Ask when you request a quote.
- Think about heat. Lighter colors reflect more sun. Dark colors run hotter, which matters for underlayment choice.
- Match the whole job. Order trim coil, rivets, sealant and touch-up paint in the same color.
- Re-roofs and additions. Bring a piece of the existing metal. Older roofs fade, so a fresh coil may not match exactly.

Color stock depends on the metal, the gauge and the width. Check the stock board for today’s colors, or ask us for the lead time on a color that isn’t listed.
Questions
What is the difference between PVDF and SMP colors?
PVDF (Kynar 500) holds its color and resists chalking longer, and carries the longer finish warranty. SMP costs less. See our guide to Kynar, SMP and polyester paint.
