A decoiler holds the coil and pays it into your roll former, slitter or brake station without kinking the metal or scratching the paint. Our catalog covers manual, motorized, hydraulic and double decoilers.

Types in the catalog
Manual decoilers
The coil turns as the machine pulls it. Manual decoilers are simple and light, and they suit portable roll formers. The catalog includes ESE standard, heavy-duty, extra-wide and mini decoilers, the XLP decoiler and the DC16, DC115, DC500, D200, SS4EDC, 51/8 and 60/8 manual models.
Motorized decoilers
A motor turns the coil so the machine doesn’t drag it. That helps with heavier coils and longer runs. Options include the DC60M and the DC115M with VFD speed controls, and a motorized double decoiler.
Hydraulic decoilers
A hydraulic mandrel expands inside the coil to hold it. These suit heavy shop coils. One model comes with a loading cart.
Double decoilers and recoilers
A double decoiler holds two coils, so you can switch colors or gauges without unloading. The motorized hydraulic recoiler MR10 winds leftover coil back up.
Sizing a decoiler
- Coil weight. Choose a decoiler rated above the heaviest coil you will load.
- Coil width. The arms or plates must clear your widest coil.
- Inside diameter. The mandrel has to fit the coil’s inside diameter.
- Brake or drag. A drag stops the coil from spinning on after the machine stops.
- Placement. Leave room to load coil with a forklift or a loading cart.
Questions
Do I need a decoiler for a portable roll former?
For anything more than short runs, yes. A decoiler keeps the coil straight into the machine and protects the paint.
Manual or motorized?
Manual suits lighter coils and portable work. Motorized suits heavier coils, longer runs and shop setups.
Will your decoiler fit the coil you sell?
Tell us the coil you buy and the decoiler you are looking at. We’ll check the width, weight and inside diameter before you order.
Can I load two colors at once?
Yes, with a double decoiler. It saves the time of unloading one coil to run another.
Pair a decoiler with a roof panel roll former or a gang slitter, and feed it with painted coil from our stock.
