What cut-to-length means
The coil is unrolled and sheared across into flat pieces of the lengths you ask for. The pieces come flat, ready for the brake or the roof. It is the same metal and finish as the coil, delivered as pieces instead of a roll.
When it saves money
- You don’t need a whole coil. Buy the pieces for one job instead of a full coil that sits in the yard.
- Less handling on site. No decoiler, no shear, no measuring on the roof.
- Less scrap. Pieces cut to the lengths on your list leave less offcut.
- Faster trim work. Pieces cut to your trim lengths go straight to the brake.
Sending a cut list
Write one line per length: the length, the quantity, and where it goes on the job. Put the metal, gauge, width, finish and color at the top. If some pieces must be exact, mark them, and tell us the tolerance you need. A clear list prevents most mistakes.
Example of a clear line: 12 pieces at 18′ 4″, north slope, 20″ .032″ aluminum, Dark Bronze.
Cut-to-length or flat sheet?
Flat aluminum and steel sheet in standard sizes is in our coil and sheet catalog. Choose standard sheets when the size fits. Choose cut-to-length when you need lengths or widths that standard sheets don’t cover.

What is the longest piece you can cut?
Call us with the length. We confirm what’s possible for each metal and how it will be delivered.
How are long pieces delivered?
Ask us when you send the list. Long pieces need the right truck and someone on site to unload.
Can you also slit the coil to width?

Can I change the list after I send it?
Call as soon as possible. Once pieces are cut, they can’t be changed.
