About this product
The AceClamp A2 is a seam clamp that roofers and snow retention installers use to attach snow guards, snow bars and similar hardware to standing seam metal roofs without drilling through the panel. Made by PMC Industries under the AceClamp name, it closes with a push-pin design instead of set screws, so nothing twists against the paint as you tighten it.
The body is aircraft-quality aluminum with all stainless-steel hardware, and it arrives fully assembled. AceClamp lists the A2 (part 5056-A) for single-lock, double-lock and snap-lock seams. It measures roughly 1.25″ x 1.69″ x 1.63″, with a 3/8-16 tapped hole on top that accepts one-, two- or three-hole snow brackets from 2″ to 6″ tall. Tighten it with a torque wrench to AceClamp’s published value for the panel material, for example 195 in-lbs on 22 gauge steel or 165 in-lbs on aluminum, and never with an impact gun. AceClamp also publishes third-party load tests by panel brand, so you can check holding values for the roof you are working on.
For taller nail-down or snap-lock seams of 1.5″ to 1.75″, step up to the A2N; for short 3/4″ to 1″ snap-lock seams, use the A2Nw; for bulb, T-panel and zip-rib seams, use the ML. Like every AceClamp, it is not a fall-protection anchor.

Can I tighten it with an impact driver?
No. AceClamp specifies a torque wrench set to its published in-lb values and says not to use an impact gun.
Will it work on a copper roof?
AceClamp does not publish a copper torque value for the A2, so call us before using it on copper.
Which clamp do I need for nail-down panels?
Use the AceClamp A2N for 1.5" to 1.75" nail-down seams, or the A2Nw for short 3/4" to 1" snap-lock seams.
