Pre-painted metal picks up scratches before, during and after installation: panels rub in transit, tools nick a rib, and cut edges expose the metal. Ready Match Touchup is the touch-up program from Sherwin-Williams Coil Coatings for those small repairs on metal building products such as roof and wall panels, trim, flashing and aluminum extrusions.

Sherwin-Williams splits the program into three jobs. Light field touch-up covers small scratches and nicks on the jobsite. Light OEM touch-up is done in the fabrication shop before panels ship. Ready Match Edge Guard is a quick-drying acrylic sealer for the cut edges of metal, applied during fabrication or installation, that helps keep water and humidity from damaging the coating and the metal under it. The touch-up products come in acrylic lacquer and PVDF systems, in aerosol, pen and brush, and bottle formats, and Sherwin-Williams offers custom-color touch-up in small or large quantities.

To get the right match, tell us the panel or coil manufacturer, the color name and the paint system when you order. Clean and dry the area first. Sherwin-Williams positions the field products for small scratches and nicks, so keep touch-up to small areas rather than repainting whole panels.

Touch-up pairs with Steel Coil, Aluminum Coil, the exposed fastener panels and Snaplock Standing Seam in the catalog, and with Geocel Phantom where a joint also needs sealing.
