About this product
Resistor SF is a synthetic roof underlayment from RESISTO, the residential roofing brand of SOPREMA. It takes the place of felt paper as the water-shedding layer over the roof deck, installed before the shingles or metal roofing go on. The sheet pairs a non-woven polyolefin top surface with a polymer-reinforced woven polyolefin underside, and the top is made to resist slipping so crews have better footing while they work.
Compared with asphalt felt, it is much lighter to carry up a ladder and stronger, with good tensile strength and tear resistance. It is meant to complement an eave protector rather than replace one: lay a self-adhered membrane such as Lastobond Pro HT-N or Tyvek Protec PSU at the eaves, valleys and other vulnerable areas, then cover the rest of the deck with Resistor SF.
Fasten it as RESISTO’s current installation instructions direct, lap it shingle-fashion so water runs over each lap, and cover it with the finished roof within the exposure time the maker allows. Ask us for the current data sheet with roll size, fastening schedule and UV exposure limit before you plan the job.
Other underlayments in the catalog include DuPont Tyvek Protec 120 for mechanically fastened synthetic coverage. On metal roofs, add Butyl Tape and Geocel sealants at the laps and flashings. It is available from our New Brunswick, NJ warehouse; call (732) 561-4275 to check stock, or add it to your quote.

Questions
Is it a self-adhered ice barrier?
No. Resistor SF is a synthetic underlayment meant to be used alongside an eave protector such as Lastobond Pro HT-N, not instead of one.
Why use synthetic instead of felt?
It is much lighter than felt paper, with good tensile and tear strength, and its surface is made to resist slipping.
