The StanGroup Manual Decoiler 51/8 is a heavy, unpowered coil stand for wide coil. Shops running AG and R panel lines, roofing and siding production, or cutting and shearing equipment use it to hold a big coil steady while the next machine pulls material off.
StanGroup rates it for coils up to 10,000 lb (4,535 kg) and 51″ wide, with a coil inside diameter of 16″ to 24″. Loading is done with the reel off the stand: the self-centering coil reel goes into the coil, a hand wrench expands it until it grips, and the reel and coil go back onto the stand, where the brake fixture locks them in. Once the strip is pulled, the coil turns freely and the friction brake controls it; an unwinding handle is supplied. The older listing adds that the lower joint bars have to be welded to the triangle stands before first use. No electrical connection is needed. Weight is about 700 lb (317 kg), and the footprint is roughly 67″ x 47″ x 49″.
A 51″ coil fits the 55″ Industrial Gang Metal Slitter and the 52″ bed of the Industrial manual sheet metal guillotine shear HS-52, which makes this stand a simple front end for a slit-and-shear setup.
