About this product
The StanGroup Manual Decoiler 60/8 holds 5-foot-wide coil without a motor, for shops that buy full-width coil for roofing and siding production, AG and R panels, cutting and shearing. It sits between the 51″ Manual Decoiler 51/8 and the 102″ Manual Decoiler DC115 in StanGroup’s line of manual stands.
StanGroup’s rating is 10,000 lb (4,535 kg) of coil up to 60″ (1.5 m) wide, on a 16″ to 24″ inside diameter. To load it, you lift the self-centering reel off the stand, slide it into the coil, open it with the hand wrench until it bites, and set reel and coil back on the stand, where a brake fixture holds them. From then on the downstream machine pulls the strip, and a friction brake keeps the coil from overrunning; an unwinding handle and the expanding wrench come with it. As with the 51/8, the older listing asks for the lower joint bars to be welded to the triangle stands before the stand goes into service. It weighs about 770 lb (350 kg) and takes roughly 75″ x 47″ of floor at 49″ high.
If you would rather have a motor do the pulling at the same width, the Motorized Decoiler machine DC60M takes the same 10,000 lb, 60″ coil with VFD control, and the 5′ Motorized Double Decoiler carries two coils. Full-width Steel Coil is the typical load.
