About this product
The StanGroup SS4E-DMDC is an unpowered double decoiler for contractors and small panel shops that run a portable roof panel machine. It holds two coils side by side, so a second color or gauge is ready to go and you can switch over without lifting a coil off the floor in the middle of a job.
The unit is made up of a free-standing double reel stand in powder-coated steel and two expandable arbor reels made of aluminum. Each arbor slides into the coil and is tightened against the inside with a threaded nut, with a pin selector covering three ranges between 16″ and 20″ ID; a 13″ to 24″ range is optional. Each arbor carries up to 3,000 lb, and coils can be up to 26.5″ (670 mm) wide. Friction brakes at both positions control pay-off, and hold-down brackets lock the arbors in their cradles. StanGroup’s loading steps call for a forklift or other approved lifting device to set the loaded arbors, and for strapping the coil before the machine is moved so it cannot telescope.
The stand measures about 24″ x 34″ x 42″ and weighs about 400 lb. The single-arbor version is the Manual Decoiler SS4EDC. Questions
Can I buy an extra arbor?
Yes. StanGroup sells the expandable arbor reel (EXA) separately, for faster material changes or to fit other roll-forming machines.
How do I load a coil?
Collapse the arbor with its threaded nut, slide it into the coil and tighten it, then lift the coil and arbor into the stand with a forklift or approved lifting device and close the hold-down brackets.
