Motorized Decoiler DC115M with VFD controls

About this product

The StanGroup DC115M is a powered decoiler for very wide coil, up to 115″ (2.9 m, or 9.5 ft). Shops running wide-coil roll forming, cutting, stamping or other coil-fed lines use it where a 51″ or 60″ decoiler is not wide enough, and where a motor should do the work of turning a heavy coil.

StanGroup rates it for coils up to 10,000 lb (4,600 kg) and lists a 14″ to 24.5″ inside diameter range on the self-centering coil holder. A 2 HP motor on 220 V three-phase power turns the reel through a belt drive. The VFD gives variable speed, forward and reverse, and controlled starting and stopping, and a limit switch is fitted for controlled operation with the machine it feeds. Controls are on the electric box with a foot pedal, and StanGroup quotes pay-off speeds up to 60 ft/min. The steel frame is roughly 132″ long, 45″ wide and 49″ high and weighs about 1,200 lb, so it is a fixed shop installation.

The manual counterpart is the Manual Decoiler DC115, listed for coil up to 102″ wide. For 60″ coil, the Motorized Decoiler machine DC60M offers the same kind of VFD control on a smaller frame.
