About this product
The Malco AV6 is an offset aviation snip that cuts to the left, used by roofers, HVAC techs and siding crews for sharp left turns, tight circles and straight runs where they want their hand kept up and out of the sheet. The red grips follow the usual color code for left-cutting snips.
Because the jaws sit below the handles, the cut-off edge clears your knuckles and you can keep cutting down the middle of a wide sheet. Malco rates the AV6 for 18 gauge mild and galvanized steel, 20 gauge stainless, .062″ aluminum and .054″ copper. It has hardened forged steel jaws with a 1-1/4″ length of cut, measures 9-5/8″ and weighs 15 oz. POWER-FIT grips with non-slip grooves and a self-opening one-hand latch match the rest of Malco’s AV line.
Most installers pair it with a right-cutting offset snip such as the Malco MAX2000 M2007, and a straight-and-both-ways snip like the Malco AV3. If you prefer an upright head for overhead work, compare the Channellock 610UL and Midwest MWT-6900L upright left snips in this catalog.
Malco backs the AV6 with its Limited Lifetime Warranty, which covers defects in materials and workmanship for the original purchaser.
