About this product
The Malco M12NG is the gripped version of the Andy 12″ pattern snip, used by siding installers, trim carpenters and roofers for straight cuts, mild curves and multi-layer cuts in vinyl siding, J-channel, aluminum trim coil, copper and light sheet metal. Malco calls it a pattern snip; the listing’s “straight cut” describes how it is used.
Malco rates it for .055″ vinyl, .035″ aluminum, .023″ copper, 24 gauge mild and galvanized steel and 26 gauge stainless. It takes a 3″ bite per stroke and weighs 20 oz. The comfort grips are made for control in cold, wet or hot weather, and the larger handle has several openings so it fits big and small hands. A slim nose with an extended blade tip reaches into corners, and the blades are replaceable (part M12NRB). Malco shows it with a Made in USA badge.
Compared with the Malco M12A Andy Classic, the M12NG trades the classic loops for cushioned grips and a slimmer nose and weighs 3 oz more. If you want longer strokes on long trim runs, the Malco M14N 14″ Andy takes a 3-1/4″ cut. For heavier gauges and tight curves, use an aviation snip such as the Malco AV3.
Malco backs it with its Limited Lifetime Warranty for the original buyer.
