About this product
Malco’s MAX2000 offset snips are heavy-duty aviation snips for HVAC, roofing and sheet metal contractors who cut steel all day. The offset head drops the jaws below the handles, so your hand stays above the sheet on long cuts and the cut edge clears your knuckles. The pair comes as the M2006, which cuts left and has red grips, and the M2007, which cuts right and has green grips; both also cut straight.
Malco rates both for .048″ (18 gauge) mild steel, .054″ (18 gauge) galvanized, .038″ (20 gauge) stainless, .062″ aluminum and .054″ copper, with a 1-1/4″ length of cut. The upper jaw is serrated hardened alloy steel over a forged lower jaw, compound leverage reduces hand effort, and the adjustable pivot bolt is locked with a nylon nut. Euro-style textured grips, a narrower grip opening and a thumb latch round out the design. A replacement spring (M2000S) is available.
Compared with Malco’s lighter AV snips such as the AV6 and AV3, the MAX2000 line is built for heavier daily use. The M2007 is also listed on its own in this catalog.
Malco covers MAX2000 snips under its Limited Lifetime Warranty.
