The Malco S3R is an offset-handle hand seamer for roofers, HVAC installers and sheet metal mechanics who bend and close seams where a straight seamer will not fit: under eaves, along walls, between joists and overhead. The offset handles keep your hand clear of whatever is next to the work.
It has 3-1/4″ drop-forged steel jaws with vee notches every 1/4″ to help you hold an even bend depth, up to 1-1/4″. Compound leverage of about 7:1 means a firm grip without a hard squeeze. Malco rates it for 24 gauge mild and galvanized steel, 26 gauge stainless, .035″ aluminum and .023″ copper. The RedLine handles have a non-slip cushion insert and a one-hand latch, the metal handle frames resist collapsing, and the tool is nickel plated. A replacement spring (part 5018) is available.
The straight-handled Malco S2R has the same jaw family for open work, and the Malco S6R gives a 6″ jaw for longer, flatter bends. For standing seam roofs, look at the WUKO seaming pliers and the ESE Finish Hand Seamer 180 Degree in this catalog.
