About this product
The WUKO Large Straight Seaming Pliers (item 1005180) are heavy, long-handled pliers for standing seam roofers and architectural sheet metal mechanics who close, square and dress seams by hand. They are the go-to tool at panel ends, eaves, ridges and around penetrations, where you need to fold a seam over a short length or prepare it for a seaming machine.
WUKO builds them in Austria from carbon steel. They are 22″ long with an 8″ jaw width and a 6-7/8″ insertion depth, so the jaw reaches well down over a seam, and they weigh about 7.5 lb. The long handles provide the leverage to fold copper and zinc seams cleanly.
WUKO also offers a version with a radius jaw (item 1005198, 6″ jaw) and the Large Seaming Pliers 45 bent (item 1012178), which angles the head for hand clearance. For closing a single-lock seam along a whole panel, the WUKO Lock’n’Roller is quicker; for double-lock seams by hand, back the seam with the WUKO Double Welt Iron, and use the ESE Finish Hand Seamer 180 Degree for the final fold. The WUKO Flat Nose Pliers handle small tabs and seam ends.
These pliers are a good match for Copper Coil and Zinc Coil standing seam work.
