About this product
The Masc Nibbler is the MASC BK1/II Blechknabber, a German hand nibbler that standing seam roofers use to cut the seam profile before folding it. Typical jobs are notching the seam legs at the eave so the panel end can be hooked over the cleat, and at ridges, valleys and penetrations where the seam has to be turned or closed.
MASC rates it for 0.8 mm aluminum and copper, and 0.7 mm zinc and stainless steel (such as Uginox). It needs no hand punch or pilot drill to start, and the slot it leaves stops the sheet from tearing as you fold, while still letting you trim further to adjust the cut. Ergonomic handles and a short head let you work close to corners, and the tool weighs only 0.29 kg, about 10 oz. MASC Werkzeug is based in Germany.
The catalog also lists a general Sheet Metal Nibbler for similar notching work. After notching, fold the panel end with the WUKO Flat Nose Pliers, Round Nose Pliers or a Malco hand seamer, and close the seams with the WUKO Lock’n’Roller or ESE seamers. It is well suited to Copper Coil, Zinc Coil and Aluminum Coil standing seam roofs.
Keep one in every standing seam crew’s bag; it saves time at every panel end.
It is available from our New Brunswick, NJ warehouse; call (732) 561-4275 to check stock, or add it to your quote.
