About this product

The StanGroup TDFC Air Brake is a pneumatic folder made for rectangular HVAC duct with a roll-formed TDF/TDC flange or a preformed flange on the ends. It bends the panel while keeping the flange straight and lined up, so duct shops can fold straight duct sections and fittings quickly once the flange is on.

The operator slides the sheet in, lines up the notches on the alignment blade at the bend line, and the air cylinders make the bend anywhere from 0 to 120 degrees. There are no segments to set and no changeovers between jobs, and one person can run it. Control is by panel and foot pedal, with hand or foot switches available. Besides flanged duct, it folds slips and drives and plain straight duct.

The working width is about 100″ (8.2 ft); a shorter 5 ft version can be ordered. StanGroup rates it for material up to 18 gauge, galvanized or stainless. It needs no electric power, only compressed air at about 5 CFM and 80 psi, so it can sit anywhere the shop has an air line. The machine is about 112″ long, 25″ wide and 40″ high, and weighs about 1,330 lb.

In a TDFC line, the TDFC Lock & Cleats Former rolls the flange and cleats, and the Pneumatic TDFC Corner Fixing Machine installs the corners. The Square Duct Beading Machine for HVAC stiffens wide panels before folding, and Steel Coil and Steel Sheet supply the stock.

It is available from our New Brunswick, NJ warehouse; call (732) 561-4275 to check stock, or add it to your quote.
