The Metal Master 20 Heavy-Duty is the stronger grade of Van Mark’s 20″ throat brake, and the 6’6″ model (Van Mark MM661) suits roofers and siding contractors who bend 26 gauge steel in wide, short pieces. Think chimney crickets and saddles, wide counterflashing, curb and skylight flashings, cap pieces and wide sill pans.

Compared with the Pro-Grade Metal Master, the Heavy-Duty carries more castings, four at this length, and higher Van Mark ratings: 26 gauge Grade D painted steel, 26 gauge galvanized, .032″ 3003-H14 aluminum, 32 oz soft copper, .040″ soft zinc and 26 gauge 304L stainless. The 20″ throat lets you place a bend far into a wide blank.

The rest is classic Van Mark. A cam-lock clamp with an aluminum cam and UHMW polyethylene wedge holds the sheet without re-adjusting between materials. The Power Lock bar clamps the full bending edge, limiting oil canning, and opens to a 150-degree radius for easier hemming. The POWERslot hinge auto-measures a 5/8″ hem, and the handles are full-loop and anodized. The brake weighs 120 lb.
