About this product
The Malco S6R is a 6″ straight-handled hand seamer for roofers, siding installers and HVAC mechanics who need wide, even bends on drip edge, flashing returns, duct flanges and panel ends. The wider jaw spreads the bend over more metal, which helps keep the edge straight and cuts down on buckling.
The 6″ jaws are drop-forged steel with vee notches every 1/4″ for setting depth, up to 1-1/4″. Compound leverage of about 7:1 means less hand effort for a firm grip. Malco rates it for 24 gauge mild and galvanized steel, 26 gauge stainless, .035″ aluminum and .023″ copper. RedLine handles have a non-slip cushion insert and one-hand latch, the metal handle frames will not collapse, and the finish is nickel plated. Replacement spring 5018 fits the forged-jaw family.
Compared with the 3″ Malco S2R and the offset S3R, the S6R covers twice the length per bite but needs more room to work. For painted aluminum, the 5″ Malco S5R with zinc jaws is gentler on the finish. For long bends, nothing replaces a brake, so many crews carry the S6R alongside a Van Mark brake and the WUKO Uber Bender.
Malco covers the S6R under its Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Questions
3" or 6" seamer?
The 6" S6R makes straighter, more even bends on long edges; the 3" S2R fits tighter spots. Many installers carry both.
Will it bend 24 gauge steel?
Yes. Malco rates the S6R up to 24 gauge mild and galvanized steel and 26 gauge stainless.
