This version of the StanGroup Pittsburgh Lock Seamer is an electric seam closer for sheet up to 20 gauge. Duct installers and fabrication shops run it along an assembled Pittsburgh joint to fold the flange over and lock the seam in one pass, which saves the time spent hammering seams closed by hand.

It works in the shop and on the job. The tool feeds itself along the seam at an adjustable speed above 30 ft/min, follows both straight seams and radial seams on curved fittings without conversion, and adjusts to sheet thickness on its own within its working range; it can also be tuned by hand. Besides ductwork, it closes Pittsburgh seams on tubes, doors and panels. The finished seam is straighter and more even than a hammered one, the tool runs quietly, and it plugs into 110 V power.

It suits contractors whose duct and fittings are 20 gauge or lighter and who want a portable closer that can travel with the crew.
