About this product
The StanGroup Pittsburgh Lock Forming Machine is a compact multi-head lockformer for HVAC duct shops. It forms the edges needed to join square duct, round duct, square elbows and straight runs, without swapping rollers or making involved adjustments between profiles.
Its standard roller set forms six profiles:
- Pittsburgh lock, 1/2″ or 3/8″ (optional)
- seam lock for round duct
- single hem (L)
- radial single hem (L) for curved parts
- double hem (Z)
- standing seam locking pin (C)
StanGroup rates it for 22 to 26 gauge low-carbon steel as standard, with heavier capacity up to 18 gauge offered as an option, and lists galvanized, stainless and aluminum as materials. The roller tools are heat treated, set up as 7 + 7 + 6 + 1 forming pairs, and run at 36 ft/min. A 2 HP motor runs on 110 V, 60 Hz, single-phase, so the machine does not need a three-phase service. It measures about 44″ x 24″ x 43″ high and weighs around 600 lb. Optional hemming flange rollers form a hemming flange up to 0.4″ wide.
The Pittsburgh Lock Seamer closes the finished seam at the bench or on site.
