About this product
The 12’6″ Mark I Series (Van Mark model M12-S) is the long model of Van Mark’s light-duty brake. It lets a siding or remodeling crew bend 12-foot fascia, rake and frieze trims without a joint, which keeps long runs on a gable or porch looking clean.
At this length Van Mark adds dual bending and locking handles, so the sheet is clamped and lifted evenly from both ends. Six castings hold the material, dual base rails keep the brake from twisting, and the cam-lock clamp, first introduced on the Mark I in 1983, locks with a push of the handle away from you. The traditional hinge auto-measures a 3/4″ hem, and the brake bends up to 180 degrees.
Plan your materials around its rating. Van Mark lists the Mark I for .027″ 3003-H14 aluminum, 29 gauge painted or galvanized steel, 24 oz soft copper, .032″ soft zinc and 29 gauge 304L stainless. That is the range of standard residential trim coil, not heavy roofing steel.
The M12-S weighs 153 lb, and the throat is 14″. Stands are sold separately. Van Mark does not recommend folding legs or UniLegs for brakes over 12 feet, so the UniStand EZ-GO or the Unistand Adjustable is the better support at this length. Feed it from our Aluminum Coil.
