About this product

The Midwest MWT-6900L is an upright aviation snip that cuts straight lines and tight left curves, used by HVAC installers, roofers and gutter crews who cut overhead or in confined spaces. The blades sit at 90 degrees to the handles, so you can work with the blades up or down and push or pull the cut, whichever the job allows.

Midwest makes the blades from hot drop-forged molybdenum alloy steel, Austemper heat-treated and precision-ground so they cut all the way to the points. The pivot is a re-adjustable Grade 8 bolt, and the KUSH’N-POWER compound leverage handles cushion your grip. Midwest’s catalog lists a 1.25″ length of cut and an 8″ nominal length, and the company notes the tool is easiest to use in the right hand. It is made in the USA.

The Channellock 610UL is the other upright left snip in this catalog; for flat work on a bench, an offset snip such as the Malco AV6 is the usual choice. Pair the MWT-6900L with a right-cutting snip such as the Malco MAX2000 M2007 to cover both directions.

Midwest backs its snips with a limited lifetime warranty against blade or spring breakage caused by defects.
