About this product
The StanGroup TF1500S is an industrial spiral tube former for HVAC shops and duct manufacturers that make their own round spiral duct. It winds a narrow strip from coil into a helical lock-seamed tube and cuts it to length, producing duct for supply and exhaust systems, dust collection lines and protective jackets over PU-insulated pipe.
StanGroup gives a diameter range of 3.15″ to 60″ (80 to 1500 mm) and duct lengths from 4″ up to 40 ft. It runs galvanized steel from 28 to 18 gauge (0.4 to 1.2 mm), stainless from 28 to 22 gauge (0.4 to 0.8 mm) and aluminum from .016″ to .047″, and copper is also listed. Strip width is 5.4″ to 5.5″, and feed speed reaches 100 ft/min under PLC control. The machine works with flexible belts across the whole size range or with fixed hard molds; StanGroup offers a standard mold set for 6″, 10″, 12″, 14″, 16″, 20″, 24″, 30″ and 36″, or other sizes from 4″ to 60″ to order.
The standard package includes:
- an expandable coil holder with brake
- a five-station roll-forming unit with circulating lubrication
- a disc blade cut-off, plus a saw for stock heavier than 22 ga under 8″ diameter
- an automatic run-out table with pneumatic drop-off for ducts up to 20 ft
- rollers for 18 to 28 ga and bead rollers for single, double and triple beads
Power is a 7 HP main motor and a 5 HP cutting motor, both 220 V three-phase, plus shop air at 50 to 70 psi. Make the fittings with the HVAC gorelocker Elbow making machine, and cut strip from wide Steel Coil on the Industrial Gang Metal Slitter.

No. It works with flexible belts across 3.15" to 60", and fixed molds are an option for the sizes you run most.
