Ten-foot trims with a deep profile are where the 10’6″ Metal Master 20 Pro-Grade (Van Mark model MM1060) earns its keep. It has the 20″ throat Van Mark first built for metal roofing, in the lighter Pro-Grade version, and it weighs 148 lb.
Typical work for this brake includes wide fascia and rake covers, frieze and band-board wraps, deep soffit edge trim, wide drip edge and gable trims, and outside corner posts. Van Mark designs the Metal Master 20 to move between simple flashings and complex profiles without re-adjusting the brake.
Four 60 Series castings clamp the sheet through Van Mark’s cam-lock, an aluminum cam working a UHMW polyethylene wedge, and dual base rails resist twisting during the bend. The Power Lock bar holds the whole edge to cut down on oil canning and offers a 150-degree bending radius. The POWERslot hinge auto-measures a 5/8″ hem, and the brake bends up to 180 degrees.
Van Mark rates the Pro-Grade for .027″ aluminum (3003-H14), 29 gauge painted or galvanized steel, 24 oz soft copper, .032″ soft zinc and 29 gauge 304L stainless. If you bend 26 gauge steel or .032″ aluminum regularly, the Metal Master 20 Heavy-Duty is the step up. Stands are sold separately; use a 20″ throat UniStand or the UniLeg 2. Pro-Grade or Heavy-Duty Metal Master 20?
Both have a 20" throat. The Pro-Grade is rated for .027" aluminum and 29 gauge steel; the Heavy-Duty for .032" aluminum, 26 gauge steel and 32 oz copper, and it is heavier.
Will it fit on my UniStand?
Only a 20" throat stand fits: the UniStand EZ-GO USA2EZ, UniStand USA2 or UniLeg 2.
