About this product
This StanGroup slitting machine is a gang slitter: several pairs of round knives on two shafts cut a wide sheet or coil into strips in a single pass. It suits sheet metal shops that buy wide coil and want to cut their own gutter, trim, flashing and panel strip when a job calls for it.
The machine accepts material up to 55″ wide. It comes with four pairs of slitting knives, mounted on 3.35″ shafts that run in bearings at top and bottom for stability on heavier stock. The working range is 16 to 30 gauge; the more strips you cut at once, the lighter the maximum gauge. Line speed is about 150 ft/min on the standard 3 HP motor (220 V single phase, 20 A), and StanGroup offers three-phase 220 V motors and other speeds as options. Power reaches the shafts through a chain drive, and the operator runs it from buttons on the electric box or a foot pedal. Plan a footprint of roughly 68″ by 32″, 53″ high, plus room for the coil stand in front and for handling strip behind.
A decoiler in front makes it a simple slitting line: the Manual Decoiler 51/8 takes 51″ coil and the XLP Decoiler takes 48″. StanGroup also makes the Motorized Hydraulic Recoiler machine MR10 for winding material back onto a coil. Feed it Aluminum Coil or Steel Coil, and cut the strips to length on the Industrial manual sheet metal guillotine shear HS-52.
