About this product
The StanGroup 4×5 and Round & square elbow machine turns straight lengths of downspout or duct into finished elbows. It is built for gutter contractors who run the larger 4″ x 5″ commercial downspout, and for sheet metal shops that need round elbows for chimney, exhaust and HVAC work. It takes lock-seamed or welded pipe.
StanGroup fits it with dies for 4″ x 5″ rectangular pipe and for round pipe from 6″ to 8″. Both round and square dies are offered, and the maker quotes a working range of 3″ to 24″ in diameter when the machine is custom built for it. It handles pipe made from aluminum, copper, galvanized steel, stainless steel and prepainted galvanized (PPGI). Output runs from 2 to 7 elbows a minute, depending on the pipe size.
The main parts are:
- a control panel
- a die set for the profile being run
- an angle adjustment that sets how many crimps go into each elbow
- the main motor and reducer
- a rotary attachment on the side for round pipe, with an edge crimping tool for square pipe
