About this product
The WUKO Seaming Iron for Curves is a hand seaming tool that architectural sheet metal mechanics use with a hammer to form and close standing seams on curved roofs: bay windows, cupolas, turrets, eyebrow dormers and barrel roofs. On a curve, a seaming machine or straight seaming pliers cannot follow the seam, so the seam is folded a little at a time over a shaped iron.
WUKO does not list this tool on its current website, so call us to confirm its size and pocket widths before you order. In use, the seam sits against the shaped iron while you dress the metal over it with a seaming hammer, working a short length at a time along the curve so the fold stays even.
For straight seams, use the WUKO Double Welt Iron as the anvil, the WUKO Large Straight Seaming Pliers or Large Seaming Pliers 45 bent for hand closing, and the WUKO Lock’n’Roller for single-lock runs. The WUKO Round Nose Pliers and Flat Nose Pliers handle the small folds at the ends. Curved work is usually done in Copper Coil or Zinc Coil, which form well by hand.
It is available from our New Brunswick, NJ warehouse; call (732) 561-4275 to check stock, or add it to your quote.
