About this product
The WUKO Large Seaming Pliers 45 bent (item 1012178) are long-handled seaming pliers with an 8″ jaw set at a 45 degree angle, used by standing seam roofers to close, square and dress seams by hand along panel ends, at eaves and ridges, and wherever a seaming machine cannot run. The bend in the head keeps your hands up off the roof surface, which gives better leverage and keeps knuckles clear of the neighboring panel.
WUKO makes them in Austria from carbon steel, with an 8″ jaw width and a weight of about 7.5 lb. WUKO’s product page lists two lengths, 24″ in the title and 22″ in the spec table, so the exact length is shown below for confirmation. The long handles give the leverage to fold heavier copper and zinc seams cleanly.
Their straight sibling, the WUKO Large Straight Seaming Pliers (item 1005180), has the same 8″ jaw on a straight head, and suits work where you can stand over the seam. For running a single-lock seam closed over a long distance, the WUKO Lock’n’Roller is faster. Use the WUKO Double Welt Iron as a backing anvil when hand-folding double-lock seams, and the WUKO 1004837 Standing Seam Opener when a seam needs to be reopened.
