A Trim-A-Slitter cuts coil or sheet to exact widths with a clean edge, which beats scoring and snapping on the brake: Van Mark points out that repeated utility-knife scoring can damage a brake’s hinge. This listing is the 24″ heavy-duty Trim-A-Slitter on a 2″ arbor (C model, S24C); Van Mark also makes a 1.5″ arbor B version.

A 24″ slitter matches standard 24″ trim coil, so siding and roofing crews use it to cut fascia, soffit, flashing and drip edge stock to width right next to the brake. It runs by hand crank, so it works on a site with no power; to speed things up, swap the handle for a drive coupler and add one of Van Mark’s motors.

Four double-sided, hardened steel knives come standard and give two cuts per pass. Knives slide on the arbor and lock with brass-tipped set screws, and the built-in tape rule helps you set widths. Move the knives to roll a stiffening rib instead of a cut. Optional perforator die sets punch vented strips. The folding feed table has adjustable roller guides, and the body is anodized aluminum. Van Mark lists the S24C at 74 lb.

Slitting capacity, per Van Mark: .040″ 3003-H14 aluminum, 24 gauge galvanized or painted steel, 24 oz copper and .040″ zinc.
