About this product
When a Trim-A-Slitter is set up for heavier gauges, the knife arbors need extra support. The Capacity Booster installs together with one set of slitting knives and helps keep the two arbors from spreading apart during the cut. Van Mark offers capacity boosters and booster blocks as add-ons so a slitter can handle heavier gauge metals.
Van Mark makes it in two versions. Part 3582 fits C model slitters with 2″ arbor shafts (S24C, S36C, S48CB and the 2″ industrial combos), and the current Van Mark catalog lists part 3581 for B model slitters with 1.5″ shafts (S24B). Each is sold one per package. Tell us your slitter model and arbor size when you order so the right booster is supplied.
The Capacity Booster works alongside the 3578 Booster Block, which supports the arbors from below on C model slitters, and the two can be used together. Rated Trim-A-Slitter slitting capacities are .040″ (3003-H14) aluminum, 24 gauge galvanized or Grade D painted steel, 24 oz roofing copper and .040″ zinc; Van Mark asks owners to call about stainless steel.

They do different jobs. The 3578 Booster Block supports the arbors from below on C models; the Capacity Booster keeps the arbors from spreading at a set of knives. Van Mark offers both for heavier gauges.
