When a Trim-A-Slitter perforates metal, the lanced material can follow the perforating rolls around instead of feeding out of the machine. The 5119 stripper prevents that. It installs with the perforator die set and keeps material from winding on the rolls, so the perforated strip leaves the slitter the way it should.
Van Mark lists the 5119 for all of its slitters and perforator sets, so the same part works with the 3007 die set for 1.5″ arbor (B model) slitters and the 3024A set for 2″ arbor (C model) slitters. It is sold one each. On the Trim-A-Slitter Perf Package, Van Mark describes the material stripper and a machined device being used together with the perforating dies to help release coated metals.
Perforating is how contractors make their own ventilated panels for roof caps, Z-bar and soffit from any color coil, and Van Mark rates the perforated pattern at 3.36 square inches of net free area per running foot. For perforating steel, Van Mark requires the heavy-duty motor kit, and it lists perforating capacity for 24 gauge steel, .032″ aluminum and copper.
