About this product

Bending brakes wear in predictable places. The vinyl strip that cushions the bending edge gets cut and worn, and smaller parts such as wedges and springs wear with regular use. Van Mark sells tune-up kits that replace those common wear items in one package, and part 3967 is the kit Van Mark lists for the Mark I Series Heavy-Duty model.

The kit contains a vinyl strip, a wedge kit, a screw pack and springs. Van Mark notes that its tune-up kits replace the common wear items on a brake up to 12’6″ long; for a 14′ brake, Van Mark asks owners to contact its technical support. Have the model and serial number from the brake’s label ready when ordering, so the right kit is matched to the brake.

Tune-up kits are part of Van Mark’s brake maintenance line, which also includes stainless steel edges and vinyl wear strips sold separately, and the company publishes maintenance videos on its website. Van Mark states that tune-up kits and replacement parts are available for every brake it has built since 1964, which is why a well-kept older brake can stay in service.

Kits differ by brake: the Mark I light-duty, Mark II TrimMaster, Metal Master 20, Mark IV and Trim-A-Brake II each have their own part number, so ask us if you are not sure which you need. It is available from our New Brunswick, NJ warehouse; call (732) 561-4275 to check stock, or add it to your quote.
