About this product

The Trim-A-Brake II is Van Mark’s entry-level brake, a descendant of the original Trim-A-Brake, a series that dates to 1964. The T200 is the 2’0″ model: a 25 lb brake that window installers and siding crews carry for quick, simple bends in aluminum trim coil.

It is built for basic shapes. Van Mark rates it for .024″ 3003-H14 aluminum and bends up to 130 degrees, which covers 90-degree returns, window and door trim pieces, small flashings and capping for short sections. For hems and detailed profiles, Van Mark points you to its cam-locking TrimMaster brakes.

Features that make the T200 practical on site:

  • Patented toggle-lock clamping, with material loaded from either side
  • Stainless steel edge, so you can score aluminum with a utility knife and snap it clean
  • Hinge pockets that protect the brake while you score
  • Material stops for repeat bends without re-measuring
  • Non-marring vinyl strip along the full bend

The brake has a 3/8″ x 13″ working pocket and a 13-3/8″ throat, two castings and a compact slide locking bar. Van Mark notes the TrimCutter is not compatible with the Trim-A-Brake. Stands are sold separately; the Steel Folding Legs for Trim-A-Brake are the matching support. Pair it with our Aluminum Coil. Available from our New Brunswick, NJ warehouse. Questions

Can the Trim-A-Brake II make hems?

It bends up to 130 degrees. For hems and detailed trim, Van Mark recommends its TrimMaster brakes.

Does the TrimCutter fit it?

No. Van Mark says the TrimCutter is not compatible with the Trim-A-Brake; it was designed for the cam-locking brakes.
