Every Trim-A-Slitter ships with four knives, enough for two cuts in one pass. Adding knives lets the same machine do more in a single trip through the slitter: cut more strips at once, or form a stiffening rib alongside a cut. The 5034 is the replacement and add-on knife for B model slitters, the ones built on 1.5″ arbors, such as the 24″ S24B and the Trim-A-Slitter with 1.5″ Arbor 24″ in this catalog.

The knife count is simple. Each extra cut needs two knives, one upper and one lower, and each extra rib needs three. The knives are hardened, precision ground and polished, with two cutting edges, and they are positioned along the arbor and held with brass-tipped set screws. Knives are sold one each, so order the exact count your setup needs, plus spares to replace worn ones.

Van Mark rates Trim-A-Slitter slitting capacity at .040″ (3003-H14) aluminum, 24 gauge galvanized or Grade D painted steel, 24 oz roofing copper and .040″ zinc, and asks owners to call about stainless. Sharp, correctly set knives are what give a slit strip its clean edge.

B model slitters do not take the C model knife (5035), and the reverse is also true. Related B model parts include the Perforating Rolls for B Models (3007) and the Slitter Perf Stripper.
