The 3007 perforator die set lets a Trim-A-Slitter make vented material from ordinary coil. Instead of slitting, a matched male and female roll lance a pattern of openings in the metal as it passes through, and Van Mark rates the result at 3.36 square inches of net free area per running foot. Van Mark pitches perforating as a way to create your own ventilated panels for roof caps, Z-bar or soffit from any color coil or sheet.

This set fits B model slitters, which have 1.5″ arbors, such as the 24″ S24B and the Trim-A-Slitter with 1.5″ Arbor 24″ in this catalog. C model slitters with 2″ arbors take the 3024A set instead. The package contains one male and one female die. Van Mark lists the perforator for most light to medium construction-grade materials, and the Trim-A-Slitter page lists perforating die sets for 24 gauge steel, .032″ aluminum or copper.

Two other parts matter when perforating. The Slitter Perf Stripper (5119) installs with the dies and keeps material from winding around the rolls, and Van Mark notes that its heavy-duty motor kit is required when perforating steel. A Trim-A-Slitter Power Package with the HD motor and the HD Foot Pedal make longer runs easier to handle.
