About this product
The StanGroup Pittsburgh S-cleat C-drive machine plus Flanger attachment combines several lockforming jobs on one stand. It is aimed at HVAC contractors and duct shops that build rectangular and round duct, and their elbows, in house. Instead of a separate cleat machine and lockformer, one frame forms the profiles for both the long seams and the transverse joints.
It forms:
- S cleat, from 3.5″ strip, which slips over the overlapping edges of two duct sections
- C drive (drive cleat), used with the S cleat to close the joint
- Pittsburgh lock, the female pocket for rectangular duct seams
- seam lock for round duct
- a male flange, from the flanger on top, that fits into the Pittsburgh pocket on curved or straight edges such as elbow cheeks
StanGroup rates it for galvanized or stainless steel from 18 to 26 gauge at 36 ft/min, with 8 forming roller pairs arranged in three rows. Its current specification calls for 220 V single-phase power. The footprint is about 55″ x 25″, it stands 43″ high, and it weighs roughly 950 lb, so a pallet jack or forklift moves it around the shop.
If you do not need the flanger, the S-cleat C-drive locking pin Pittsburgh and Seam Lock Forming Machine covers the four main profiles. The Pittsburgh Lock Seamer closes Pittsburgh seams, and the Pittsburgh Lock Forming Machine adds L and Z hems. Steel Coil slit to strip feeds the cleat heads.
