The StanGroup Hemming flange edge forming machine is a compact lockformer that puts a formed edge on sheet metal parts for HVAC duct and fittings. Shops hem an edge to stiffen it and get rid of the raw cut, and turn a flange so a mating part has something to lock onto.
StanGroup describes it as forming two edge profiles without changing rollers or making involved adjustments, and names the flat hemming flange as one of them; ask us which second profile is set up on the unit you are quoting. It is rated for 19 to 26 gauge low-carbon steel (0.45 to 1.2 mm). The heat-treated roller tools are listed as 7 x 2 forming pairs, and strip runs through at 36 ft/min.
Power is a 2 HP (1.5 kW) motor on 220 to 240 V, 60 Hz, three-phase, so check that your shop has a three-phase supply before ordering. The machine measures 39″ x 27″ and stands 48″ high (1000 x 680 x 1220 mm). At about 700 lb it is small enough to sit next to a brake or shear and be moved when the shop layout changes.
