About this product
The 4’6″ Mark I Series brake (Van Mark model M4-S) is a light-duty trim brake for siding and window installers. It is long enough for most window and door heads, and at 63 lb it is easy to carry from the truck to the work.
Window and door capping is where this length shines. Brickmold covers, sill noses, head flashings, short fascia sections and porch column wraps are often under four feet, so a 4’6″ brake bends them without the bulk of a full-length tool.
- Cam-locking clamp: Van Mark’s patented aluminum cam with a UHMW polyethylene wedge
- Three castings, two per clamping station, and dual base rails to resist twisting
- Traditional hinge that auto-measures a 3/4″ hem for J-channel pockets
- Bends up to 180 degrees for hemmed and complex profiles
- Full-loop locking and bending handles with foam grips
The throat is 14″. Van Mark rates the Mark I for .027″ 3003-H14 aluminum, 29 gauge painted or galvanized steel, 24 oz soft copper, .032″ soft zinc and 29 gauge 304L stainless. Stands are sold separately; the Van Mark Steel Folding Legs for Mark I and Mark II or a UniLeg 1 fit 14″ throat brakes like this one.
