About this product

The WUKO Uber Bender is a hand-held flange bender that roofers and sheet metal workers run along a panel or flashing edge to turn up or turn down a flange on site, without carrying the piece to a brake. It is popular for panel ends, cut-offs, wall flashings and returns.

Its angled bending disc folds the metal from 0 to 100 degrees, so you can take a bend slightly past 90 degrees and let it spring back to a crisp square edge. WUKO pitches it for delicate and springy materials and for bending alongside lengthwise beads in a panel. It is rated for 0.8 mm (about .031″) metal. The 6200 reaches 5 to 200 mm (1/4″ to 8″) in from the edge and weighs 3.37 lb; the long 6350 reaches 6 to 350 mm (0.24″ to 14″) and weighs 4.30 lb. Both come with inch or centimeter scales, and WUKO also makes a Mini Uber Bender (6050).

For long straight strips, the WUKO Uber Bender Duo doubles the disc and adds a handle so the bend stays even over the length. The WUKO Duo Bender uses rolls and bends to 90 degrees; the WUKO Combo Bender rolls beads and offsets rather than flanges. Long, precise bends still belong on a Van Mark brake.

Questions

Why does it bend past 90 degrees?

Many metals spring back after bending. Going a few degrees past 90 lets the flange settle at a true square.

Uber Bender or Uber Bender Duo?

The single Uber Bender is lighter and handier for short flanges; the Duo doubles the discs and adds a handle for long straight strips.
