About this product

The WUKO Round Nose Pliers (item 1004845) are sheet metal pliers with rounded jaws that roofers and architectural sheet metal mechanics use to form rounded folds, hooks, curled edges and soft returns. They are useful wherever a sharp fold would crack the metal or where a detail calls for a radius: hooking cleats, rolling a drip, forming gutter hangers and shaping the ends of standing seams on copper and zinc roofs.

WUKO lists the pliers under item 1004845 and shows them as made in Austria. A rounded jaw spreads the bend over a curve instead of a crease, which matters with zinc in particular, where tight folds in cold weather are a known risk.

Pair them with the WUKO Flat Nose Pliers for square folds, the WUKO 1004837 Standing Seam Opener for repairs, and the WUKO Large Straight Seaming Pliers for long seams. For running a flange along a full edge, a WUKO Uber Bender or Duo Bender is faster.

Together with a hand seamer such as the Malco S2R, these pliers cover most small detail folds on a standing seam job, and they suit Copper Coil, Zinc Coil and Aluminum Coil alike.

Questions

When do I use round nose pliers instead of flat?

For hooks, curls and rounded returns. Flat nose pliers are for square, sharp folds.

Are they good for zinc?

A rounded jaw spreads the bend, which helps with zinc. Follow the zinc maker's guidance on minimum working temperature.
