The WUKO Lock’n’Roller 1040 is a hand-operated seam closer that standing seam roofers use to close single-lock seams quickly and evenly along the length of a panel. Instead of squeezing the seam closed a few inches at a time with pliers, you set the roller on the seam and push it along.
WUKO rates it for 0.8 mm aluminum, copper and zinc, 0.65 mm galvanized steel and 0.5 mm stainless, on seam profiles 12 to 15 mm (1/2″ to 19/32″) wide; the newer Lock’n’Roller 1042 handles wider 19 to 23 mm profiles. The tool is about 10.6″ long. It closes in both directions, an eccentric lever with disc springs sets the pressure, and it can be lifted off the seam at any point without scratching the panel. Forming rollers are stainless, there are handholds on top and on both sides, and a rope-tying device and carrying case are included. Two roller holders can be combined for batten seams.
Use the WUKO Large Straight Seaming Pliers or Large Seaming Pliers 45 bent to start the seam at panel ends, and the WUKO 1004837 Standing Seam Opener if a seam has to be reopened. For double-lock seams, step up to a power seamer such as the ESE K9 Double Lock Power Seamer.
It is a natural partner for Copper Coil, Zinc Coil and Aluminum Coil standing seam roofs.

Does it close double-lock seams?
No. WUKO designed it to close single-lock seams. For double-lock, use a power seamer such as the ESE K9.
Will it fit a wider seam?
The 1040 takes 12 to 15 mm profiles. WUKO's Lock'n'Roller 1042 is the version for 19 to 23 mm seams.
