This power package is Van Mark’s standard slitter motor kit for 115-volt shop and jobsite power, model 3521. It converts a hand-cranked Trim-A-Slitter into a powered machine, so one person can feed coil and guide the sheet while the motor does the turning.

Van Mark lists the 3521 as a standard-duty motor that fits all of its slitter models. It runs on 115 volts, single phase, 60 Hz, which is ordinary US power, and feeds at about 32 feet per minute. The kit comes with the coupling and mounting hardware; installation replaces the slitter’s hand crank with a drive coupler and the matching motor base, following Van Mark’s motor kit instructions.

Who should choose standard duty? Crews that slit and rib-form trim coil, aluminum and light steel will find it a big step up from cranking by hand. If you plan to perforate steel, choose the heavy-duty version instead: Van Mark requires its heavy-duty motor (115V model 3535) for perforating steel, and that motor also feeds a little faster.
