Van Mark – Metal Master 20 Contractor Brake 6'6"

Van Mark built the Metal Master 20 around a 20″ throat for metal roofing work, and the Pro-Grade brings that reach to siding, window, door and trim jobs. The 6’6″ model (Van Mark MM660) is the mid-size option, at 107 lb.

Where does a deep throat help on a house? Wide fascia and frieze wraps, deep soffit returns, chimney chase caps, and valley or cricket pieces cut from wide stock. A 20″ throat reaches bends that a 14″ brake leaves out of range, and the 6’6″ length handles most window, door and porch trim as well.

On the brake: three 60 Series castings with Van Mark’s cam-lock clamp, dual base rails, and a Power Lock bar that clamps along the full bending edge to reduce oil canning and warping. The bar opens to a 150-degree bending radius, which helps when you over-bend or close a hem. The POWERslot hinge auto-measures a 5/8″ hem, and the brake bends up to 180 degrees. Handles are full-loop and anodized, and the locking handle locks by pushing away from you.

Van Mark rates the Pro-Grade for .027″ 3003-H14 aluminum, 29 gauge painted or galvanized steel, 24 oz soft copper, .032″ soft zinc and 29 gauge 304L stainless. Stands are sold separately; use a 20″ throat stand such as the UniStand EZ-GO USA2EZ or the UniLeg 2. The Van Mark TrimFormer adds brickmold and rib profiles on the brake.
